PEDSI is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in the United States
PEDSI Global Health (USA) established in 2012 is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of medical practitioners and volunteers who are committed to addressing global health inequities through education, advocacy and social empowerment in USA, Bangladesh and in developing countries. Our faculty are Fellows of American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians and members of Bangladesh Medical Association of North America. As instructors and Medical Director for PALS for over 20 years we have considerable experience in organizing top quality course.

Maksud Chowdhury, MBBS, MRCP, FAAP
President
Dr. Chowdhury received his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College. He completed his DCH & MRCP degrees from UK and completed his Residency in Pediatrics in New York. He is currently Associate Professor of Pediatrics at
St. George University and Attending Physician at Coney Island Hospital, NY where he has received multiple teaching awards. He is the past President of Bangladesh Medical Association of North America (BMANA) where he organized multiple CME conferences and cultural events. He is involved with multiple charitable organizations in USA and Bangladesh.
Waseem Hafeez, MBBS, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Hafeez received his MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College. He completed training in Pediatrics at Dhaka Shishu Hospital and in New York Medical College. He is dual Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency
Medicine. He is Associate Professor of Pediatric Emeritus at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Attending physician in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). He has published research articles in medical journals, and written textbook chapters on various topics. He has been to medical missions to Haiti and teaching programs in Zimbabwe, Philippines and Bangladesh.
Shamim Begum, MBBS, FACP
Treasurer & Director of Womens Health
Dr. Begum received her MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College. She worked as Medical officer in Saudi Arabia and completed her Residency training in New York. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. She is an
Attending Physician in Long Island Developmental Disabilities Service Office, as well as provides medical care in an immigrant community in NY.
Yasmin Hafeez, RN
Vice President
Mrs. Yasmin Hafeez receIved her Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in English and completed her RN degree from New York. She has been a Staff nurse for 20 years in Med-Surg nursing and Mother - Baby unit. She is Instructor in BLS
and PALS programs. Apart from volunteering in PEDSI, she has been to medical missions to Haiti and teaching programs in Zimbabwe, Philippines and Bangladesh.

Fabian Chang, MD, FAAP
Dr. Chang received his MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed Residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Currently practicing Pediatrics in Georgia. He has visited Bangladesh as instructor in training programs.
Naema Chowdhury, MD, FAAP
Zoabe Hafeez, MD, FAAP
Dr. Hafeez received his MD degree from UT School of Medicine and completed Residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. He is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, McGovern School of Medicine, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. He visited Bangladesh as instructor in training programs.
Maisoon Chowdhury, MPH
Dr. Chowdhury received her MD degree from St. Georges School of Medicine, completed Residency at Maimonides Medical Center and Fellowship at Comer Children's Hospital Chicago. Currently practicing Pulmonology in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Ms. Chowdhury received her MPH Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently she is Senior Strategic Engagement & Policy Advisor, USAID, Washington DC. She is developing an App for data entry in PEDSI school health program
Sanaa Semyon, MA
Ms. Semyon received her MS degree in East Asian Studies from Stanford University. Currently she is an Equity Analyst at
CompIntelligence, Inc. She organized the 3 day
PEDSI International Webinar and has visited Bangladesh as instructor in training programs.
Ryan Chowdhury, MS, JD
Mr. Chowdhury received his MS Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University and JD George Washington University Law School. Currently he is an Associate within the Intellectual Property group of Fish & Richardson, Washington D.C.
